Although this story is fictional, the film’s producers tried to create a believable saga. The actors play their roles as if it were real. The Safdie Brothers, who produced the show, carefully researched Howard Ratner’s fictional bet. The show is a great example of how to make fiction feel real.

In the series, he faces off against the rebel Gelflings at Stone-in-the-Wood. Despite his evil nature, he is the character that inspires the scientist to drain Gelfling essence and build the Garthim army. However, when his research is discovered, he dies, and Kira has to summon his laboratory animals to rescue him.
The Skeksis have been ruling for nearly a thousand trine since the Crystal was darkened. They still have control of Thra, but their empire is slowly crumbling from its heyday. They still have some benevolence towards the Gelflings, but the Empire is starting to show signs of a decline. In the meantime, the Gelfling race is thriving, and the Skeksis are just discovering the power of the Crystal.
The story begins as a young guard finds a horrifying secret about the Skeksis overlords. After all, the Crystal of Truth is the source of untold power, and the Skeksis are corrupting it and causing sickness. In order to stop Skeksis’ evil plan, three Gelfling must learn the truth about the Crystal of Truth and its true power.
Rian’s essence was not enough to stop the Skeksis from taking the Crystal of Truth. The skekTek learns to siphon the Gelfling’s essence, and abducts a Crystal Guard Gelfling named Mira. Mira dies when the Skeksis eat her essence, but Rian manages to escape.
The plot revolves around Rian’s group battling the Skeksis in the Circle of the Suns. They are surrounded by splintered Skeksis who want to merge with the GraGoh and become the GraGoh. The dual glaive, an ancient weapon, will help end the Skeksis’ rule.
